It’s been a really exciting week – our m.a.d.woman Foundation m.a.d. kid ambassadors Maddy, 12, and Teegs, 10, filmed a story with Channel 7 News – and it’s hopefully running this weekend!
For the second year in a row, the incredibly inspiring sisters are aiming to provide ONE THOUSAND pencil cases filled with school supplies for kids in Australia who are disadvantaged, foster care or facing other challenges.
Last year they blitzed this total and we were able to distribute 1000 pencil cases thanks to their efforts. The pencil cases have been handsewn by volunteers all over Australia.
This year the girls still need some help to meet their target and have made 1000 hair accessories to raise funds as well as having their own fundraising page.
There are two ways you can help them.
- Donate to their page (and read their story in their own words) where every $10 will sponsor a pencil case going out (you can leave an encouraging message or donate anonymously – either way it’s tax deductible) https://www.mycause.com.au/page/213639/kids-helping-kids
- Buy a hair to help project box of 10 hair accessories. They’ve been handmade by the girls and other kind volunteers. Each box has been hand selected by the girls and contains scrunchies, hair ties and a bow. https://shop.madwoman.com.au/collections/hair-to-help-project/products/hair-to-help-mystery-box
If we hear news of exactly when they will be on, we will let you know. We’d love you to please help spread the word about these two amazing, kind and absolutely inspirational young girls. The future is in great hands.
