about the m.a.d. school
In Australia, 44% of adults don’t have the literacy levels required to participate fully in the community. The impact can be far-reaching, including affecting health, employment and social circumstances. There are also many instances of intergenerational literacy issues.
In response to this shocking statistic, m.a.d.woman – making a difference are currently creating adult-appropriate literacy and numeracy resources that we will offer free for anyone to access.
The aim of the m.a.d. school platform is to reduce barriers to access for the likes of remote, regional and disadvantaged people to help them have availability to creative and innovative programs.
This will include the m.a.d. school – literacy library with free downloadable content for adults with low literacy. This will also be available for literacy tutors and groups working to support these adults.
m.a.d.woman – making a difference is working to compile useful and user-friendly, relatable content accessible to a wide audience that addresses varied styles of learning in an online capacity.
Every community care project we run will enable us to fund the m.a.d. school literacy resources to help improve literacy.
The mission of the m.a.d. school is to positively change the course of people’s lives.
