Day 1: The write way to feel grateful

Welcome to Grateful in April where you get an opportunity to spend an entire month focusing on creating and enhancing an attitude of gratitude. It’s a tough time for many people and practising gratitude can be a great way to help when times are uncertain.

Many people say that what you think about, you bring about.

From personal experience and the stories of others, we know that one of the benefits of focusing on being thankful for what we already have, is that we seem to attract more good into our lives.

Somehow by bringing our attention to all that is already great, we also leave less room for sweating some of the small stuff…

So, how do we change our focus when we are often barely aware of the tens of thousands of thoughts we have each day? Easy. Write it down.

Today, make it all about the write stuff.

If there’s one habit that could change your life for the better, it’s keeping a gratitude diary. Time and time again, people have reported that they have had some amazing results simply by noting what is already good in their lives.

Start small, kick off #GratefulinApril by putting a journal or notepad by your bed and get into the habit of starting or ending the day by recording just three things you are grateful for in your life.

Some days it is easy and some days harder, but as you build this habit you will find that you really look forward to it. You might even find you start looking for things to be grateful for that you took for granted in the past. Gratitude is catchy.

If you haven’t already done so, take less than two minutes out of your day to watch this You Tube clip about an attitude of gratitude – and then share it with others you care about.

Now, are you ready to make some positive changes in your life? If you do nothing else this year, following today’s tip alone could change your life for the better!

Easy, huh? Great, start writing.

Cheers
