Declutter for a Cause – Day 1: Even the thought of decluttering is enough to get some people into a spin. At the m.a.d.woman foundation, we’ve discovered a little secret. Knowing that your stuff you ‘might’ use some day is going to people in need today makes it a whole lot easier to part with your goods.

The key to decluttering is small steps. That’s why we’re starting with something easy, just to get you in the swing of it.

Today we’re clearing magazines. The ones on the coffee table, in the bookshelf, by the bed… Got them stashed anywhere else?

Who wants these? Think aged care homes, hospital waiting rooms, your doctor’s office or a neighbourhood community house.

Hanging on because you’ve got articles you want to read? Quickly flick through your mag and cut out any articles of interest – your huge stack will be reduced to a micro pile in minutes. Those chopped periodicals are often well-received at kindergartens and schools for arts and crafts. Just make sure they are age appropriate! Failing that, it’s time for the recycle bin.

“Three Rules of Work: Out of clutter find simplicity; From discord find harmony; In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” – Albert Einstein. ?#?DeclutterforaCause? ?#?makeadifference?
